SCREAM GHOST HAUNTS BA JET
AFTER PILOT DIES
A BRITISH AIRWAYS CREW ARE BEING SPOOKED
BY A GHOST ON THEIR JUMBO.

while sleeping on board during a flight.
The hooded spectre is said to look like the masked killer in
the horror movie scream. right. cabin crew have spotted it several
times near the door to the flight deck on the jet - call sign G-CIVH. The reports surfaced on a wed-site used by BA crews. A
terrified purser, who saw the ghost last week, said: "It
sent shivers down my spine,'' An air steward added: "It looks
just like the hooded figure in scream," The pilot, a first officer, Was
believed to have had a heart attack in his bunk on a flight from London to
Australia. But some colleagues have accused ghost witnesses of
having "too much alcohol the night before",
A BA spokeswoman joked: "Some people enjoy our in-flight service so
much that thy never want to leave the aircraft,"

GET READY TO CRASH
FEAR IN THE AIR: THE ITALLAN PASSENGERS ON
THE AER LINGUS FLIGHT WERE HORRIFIED BY THE CABIN CREW'S MISTAKEN EMERGENCY
ANNOUNCEMENT
PASSENGERS TERRIFIED BY BLUNDER ON INTERCOM
THE plane was cruising along at 35,000ft and the
passengers barely had a care in the world. Little more than an hour out of
Dublin, even a spot of turbulence caused little more excitement than an automatic
fasten your seat belts message, At least, that was as far as the Irish were
concerned. Seconds later, though, the Italians on board the flight to
Venice were hitting the panic button because they were told they were about to
crash. It appears the cabin crew aboard Aer Lingus flight EI462 had activated
the right English-speaking message, but had pressed the wrong Dutton for the
Italian version. First , the call down the cabin announced an emergency
and asked if a doctor was on board. No sooner had that been taken in, but a
second message in Italian warned that the plane was about to crash and urged
passengers to adopt the emergency position. One Italian passenger, Lara Cimetta,
thought she was about to die. she said yesterday: 'I heard the announcement
first in English, which I did not understand, and then in Italian asking if
there was a doctor on board because there had been an emergency, "This was
followed by one saying "We are about to start an emergency landing, please adopt
the emergency landing position". When I heard the first announcement
I was worried, but when I heard the second one I panicked and thought I
was about to die. 'I could see another plane far away be on some collision
course. 'My heart started beating so hard. I was amazed that all the other
passengers were sitting reading or talking and were very relaxed.' She
called a stewardess who checked and found out a prerecorded announcement .
Mrs Cimetta. 45, said: 'I couldn't sleep properly for days afterwards, I don't
know if I will ever fly again. Yesterday, a spokesman for Aer Lingus
said the company had no information on the incident, 'Our crew submits a report
after a flight. We have no report of any unusual occurrences like that,'

Lufthansa to operate A380 to US,
Hong Kong
next month
Wednesday February 14, 2007
Lufthansa yesterday revealed details of its plan to take the A380 on a series of
route-proving tests next month that will include the jumbo jet's first landing
in the US.
The carrier, which expects to take delivery of the first of 15 ordered aircraft
in the summer of 2009, said A380 number 007 will arrive in
Frankfurt
on March 17, then carry approximately 500 "guests" to
New York JFK two days later. Most passengers will be Airbus and LH staff.
The airline said the aircraft also will visit
Hong Kong,
Washington
Dulles and Munich, although it did not provide the schedule. The tests will
conclude March 28.
Lufthansa, which already has worked with Airbus on evacuation, early long flight
and cabin service tests, said its route-proving relationship is "exclusive."
Both Airbus and LH pilots will fly the aircraft, while employees from both
companies onboard will test inflight systems, air conditioning, lighting,
acoustics and other equipment. LH flight attendants will work the cabin.
In
Frankfurt, the airline "will rigorously test the entire ground
infrastructure for the A380," including comparing turnaround time with its other
long-haul types. It began constructing an A380 hangar at FRA last fall.

This morning's Ryanair
flight RYR 4102 from Frankfurt Hahn to Rome Ciampino was involved in an
emergency landing at the Italian airport this morning . The 166 passengers on
board the aircraft EI-DYG, msn 33639 were evacuated by chute at the direction of
the airport emergency services who foamed the aircraft. Two crew and eight
passengers were later brought to hospital with minor injuries.
The exact sequence of events leading to the incident are as yet unclear.
Airport sources indicated that the aircraft had suffered a burst tyre on
landing, temporarily veered off the runway before being brought under
control and back onto the runway surface.
The Ciampino fire chief reported that the crew had declared an emergency
following problems with one of the engines. The main gear subsequently
failed to function properly which caused the aircraft to depart the runway.
At
08.20 this morning Ryanair issued a press release saying that the aircraft
had suffered multiple bird strikes to both engines on approach and that the
aircraft had landed and made an emergency stop on the runway.
At
10.30 a second press release was issued which stated that substantial damage
had been caused to the left hand main undercarriage on landing and that this
would delay removing the aircraft from the runway. The picture above
released by Ryanair shows the damage to the undercarriage and also shows a
number of what appear to be blood patterns on the nose of the aircraft
consistent with multiple bird strikes.
The airport is closed pending removal of the aircraft.
